Parker Water Laboratory

The Parker Water and Sanitation Laboratory is located at the North Water Reclamation Facility.  The laboratory is responsible for providing quality and accurate data for the process control and for regulatory compliance.  The laboratory is also responsible for the compliance of the drinking water system.  The lab collects the samples for the wastewater and the drinking water compliance.  Most of the wastewater analyses are run on site and the majority of the drinking water samples are sent to a certified laboratory.

Parker Water and Sanitation Laboratory is a certified lab by the State of Colorado for bacteriological testing on drinking water.  Forty samples are taken monthly from around the District and run in the PWSD laboratory.  This not only saves the District money, it allows for Parker Water and Sanitation employees to be the first informed if any problems exist.  This would allow for quicker action for customer protection.  Customer safety, satisfaction, and water quality are top priorities in the District.

The laboratory is currently staffed with a microbiologist, two senior lab analysts, an industrial pretreatment compliance inspector, a sample technician, and a laboratory supervisor.  Each member of the lab is educated and trained in their area of specialty.  The lab staff is knowledgeable about the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.  Since most of the wastewater analyses are run in house, they are able to inform operators of potential problems right away.  This approach ensures protection of the environment and helps to prevent violations of the permit.
