Safety and Security
The Parker Water & Sanitation District lab performs extensive testing of our water supply to ensure safety and security. Each month 40 samples are taken from 30 different ground water wells. The results of the annual testing can be found in the Consumer Confidence Reports. These reports are sent to all of our customers annually and can be found on the website at PWSD.org.
Security is another issue for all water providers. The Parker Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s office have maps to all facility locations. Additional safeguards, such as fencing and electronic measures have been added to many facilities. The fact that our water supply is in as closed system, with water being pumped up from deep ground wells into chlorination chambers, and then directly into water mains, greatly reduces the possibility of contamination. In addition, all facilities are checked daily for any signs of tampering. Parker Water is committed to providing high quality, safe drinking water.
